As a lawyer, she has worked effectively as an advocate for the poor. She has most recently served as the director of the Poverello Center for the past four years. She has been active in the current leadership of the Missoula County Democratic Party and is helping to revitalize the local Democratic Party into an even more effective instrument of social progress.

For these reasons and more, we, the undersigned, join the progressive Democratic leaders of our community in supporting Ellie Hill for House District 94.

Hill is running to represent District 94.

A lifelong Rocky Mountain Westerner, Hill describes herself as the daughter of a union worker and an attorney for the poor. She’s been active in her community her entire life, working to make change from the bottom-up, says DFA chair Jim Dean.

“Montana deserves Representatives who will stand strong for their beliefs and work hard for children and workers across the state, and work to protect the environment and the rights of all Montanans,” Dean said. “And Montana deserves leaders who look to the future, speak their mind and talk truthfully with their constituents.”

Dean said Hill is running a strong grassroots campaign.

“Like DFA members across Montana and across the country, Ellie knows that elected officials have to be responsive to the people they represent. That’s why she is building a campaign responsive to the people, one built through personal interaction and volunteers.”

Democracy for America is a key endorsement in races like this one, bringing in donations from progressives and providing volunteers to participate in door-to-door, grassroots outreach. DFA has helped elect nearly 600 progressives up and down the ballot.
